Biography
Benji and Romeo are two silky wire-hair dachshunds who both came from a hoarding situation where there were close to 60 dogs. They are bonded to each other and we are looking to place these two very handsome adorable guys into the same adoptive home. Despite whatever happened to them, they are peppy, playful and very friendly. Both are very sweet boys and love human attention. We would describe them as true "velcro" dogs. They literally like to step and stand between your legs the moment you stop walking which could be a tripping hazard. Over time this may change as they gain confidence but for now they need a doxie savvy all-adult home with a good-sized fenced yard, no big dogs and no cats. They are not fully house-trained nor are they leash-trained. So far, they only bark when they don't see each other. They are fine when they are together. They keep their crate clean and they prefer to be crated together. It's not even required to separate at meal time...they do not argue or fight over anything...not even food.****Applicant should be willing to drive to Ellicott City, Maryland (10 miles south of Baltimore) to meet and adopt Benji and Romeo.**** They will be available after they are neutered on August 9.
