DRNA rescued Jones from a high kill shelter after his owner/breeder no longer had use for him. Jones is shy and worried. He probably has lived most of his life outdoors with little love and affection, yet he loves being held. He is not ready to trust people though, and is skittish about approaching. He is shy and frightened. This will get better now that he’s safe in a home in foster care with other dachshunds to show him how much fun it is to be a pet. He is pretty good at house training, which we never guarantee. He has been neutered and he has had a dental. Jones cannot be adopted until he is heart-worm negative, which DRNA’s veterinarian is treating. He weighs 16 lbs, he is 5 years old, and a secure fence is required since he does not understand leash walking at all. No small children or cats. Adopter must live in the Baltimore/Washington DC metro area (includes Delaware) so they can meet Jones before adoption. If you are a dachshund-savvy, patient, loving person with a huge, warm heart, this gorgeous boy is ready to give his away. Adoption fee $275. |
