Biography
Zoey 12047 is a 5 year old purebred red longhaired miniature dachshund girl who weighs 9 lbs. Zoey loves people. She is less enthusiastic about other dogs but she seems to tolerate other dachshunds. She is currently unable to walk due to an episode of Intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) which is very common in this breed. She has control of her bladder and bowels and can wag her tail. We are hopeful that she will recover her ability to walk with conservative treatment (rest, anti-inflammatory medications, cold laser treatments). It’s possible that she may never fully regain her ability to walk, in which case DRNA will outfit her with a cart. Zoey would be a wonderful dog for doing visits to hospitals, nursing homes, or children using wheelchairs, etc., but her adopter should not have very young children since she cannot be handled roughly or dropped. She is a sweet little friend who wants nothing more than to be with her person and be loved. Her exercise requirement is minimal. She loves chicken and cuddling. She must be adopted with 50 miles of Baltimore MD. Zoey’s adoption fee is $275.
