Biography
Shorty is a handsome young active dachshund who loves to give kisses once he is comfortable with you. He was given up to DRNA because his family fell on hard times. He was well-loved and it was a difficult decision for them but they wanted him to be cared for. He is crate-trained (but doesn't want to stay there at night or long hours) and good about going outside to potty. He is good with dogs without much of an introduction period. He needs a dog buddy (or two) in the home close to his age, size and playfulness. Shorty needs an all-adult dachshund savvy home where he will have a young energetic doggie friend his size (who has lived with other dogs and is comfortable with them), a good-sized fenced yard to run in and adopters who are home more than not. Shorty needs patient adopters who know that "disciplining" a doxie just leads to a war of the wills. No dominance training techniques for this boy. ****Applicants must be willing to travel to Walkersville MD to meet and adopt Shorty and be close enough that we can get a home visit done. ****
