Biography
Max and Beau, who are brothers from the same litter, were given up because their owner has health issues and could no longer care for them properly. She had them since they were little cute puppies and they have always been together. They would do best in a home where they can be together. They are pretty good about going outside but have had to learn to use puppy pads because of their owners illness. They are crate-trained and are crated together. They are leash-trained also and are used to a fenced yard and love to run after squirrels! They do need some time to warm up to people they don't know. Max is the bigger of the two, although he was the runt at birth. He is very affectionate once he gets to know you. Beau is a more happy go lucky guy. Likes to stay close but not as clingy. He wants to be petted when he’s ready for it. He’s a burrower. They have been loved a lot and well-cared for but weren't getting the best with their ailing owner. She feels like she has let them down but I told her we would find a great home for her boys. They definitely need a dachshund savvy home with a single-family securely fenced yard and no small children. Both boys need a diet and exercise plan because they are both overweight. ***Applicants must be willing to drive to Ellicott City, Maryland (10 miles south of Baltimore) to meet and adopt Max and Beau.****
