Priscilla was turned into the shelter when her owner was no longer able to care for her. She trembled in the back of the kennel, wouldn't even lift her head. Luckily for her, DRNA came to whisk her away to a better life. She is a petite, shy and sweet girl. She will need a quiet home where she can snuggle with her people. She enjoys the company of other dogs and exploring the yard so she will need a fenced yard and another dog buddy. This is what her foster mom had to say about her:
"This is Pricilla. She is 2 years old and weighs all of 8 lbs. Pricilla is going to make someone a very happy dog owner. In addition to the cute factor she is sweet, smart and eager to please. It is clear that she wants nothing more than to belong to someone.
As Pricilla’s foster, I am not familiar with what happened to her before coming into rescue, but it seems to me that she was not treated very kindly. She has come a long way in the trust department during the short time she has been with us but she is still frightened of quick or unexpected movement near her or when you go to pick her up. She doesn’t go running for the hills but she cowers. It’s heartbreaking to think that someone made her think that she needs to be afraid. Despite whatever it is that happened to her, she is so loving. She will come to you when you call her, go in the crate if you tell her, sit in your lap if you want her to or just curl up at your feet. As long as you are nearby, she is a happy camper. With that said, she is a little leerier of men than she is with women so it may take more time for her to do these things with the men in your household. She has warmed up to my husband considerably since first arriving but still prefers me over him. She gets along wonderfully with our two senior female dogs (a dachshund and a chi-mix). She loves to go in the yard with them and sniff around. She has gone into a play bow in front of our 14-year-old Chi-mix a few times but our old girl walks past her to the nearest bed. Pricilla just moves on. lol
Lastly, Pricilla is very bright and has adapted to our routine quickly. As long as we put her outside regularly to do her business, she has not had accidents in the house or in the crate. "

Priscilla's adoption fee is $275.
Must be willing to drive to Gambrills, MD to meet/adopt Priscilla
