Sandy AKA Sadie came to us from a breeder along with 3 others. She is amazingly sweet and LOVES everyone and everything. She is very attached to her people so would be fine as an only dog. She also gets along great with other dogs. She lived a good amount of time in a crate in her previous life so she is crate trained however, I do not want her to spend a lot of time in one any longer, she deserves better. This is what her foster mom had to say:

Sandra D (aka Sadie) is recently out of a long-term breeding situation where she was not properly cared for. When rescued she was pretty emaciated and her teeth rotted. Most of her life was spent in a cage. Despite all of this, Sadie is gentle, sweet, trusting, loving, and good natured. She currently lives with 2 dachshunds, 4 children (with lots of kid friends), and 1 cat…plus a mom and dad. She has shown an even temperament with all people and animals. Although she growls when her dachshund siblings roughhouse with one another and sometimes puts them in their place (like a mom in church).

If you do not like going for walks, Sadie is your girl. She enjoys a good carry around the block but does not understand the concept of walking for fun. She currently sleeps with her foster mom and siblings in the big bed and loves to cuddle right up against you for the entire night. When she sees you after you’ve been out for three minutes or three hours, her whole body wags with joy and she bounces around like a puppy. When her foster family eats dinner together, she likes to lie under the table and rest her head on an available foot.

Sadie is currently fed three soft food meals a day to help her gain a little weight and because of her teeth. She is having a dental soon so hopefully her teeth will feel so much better! She still needs to be house trained and we’ve had a couple accidents, but she would respond really well to positive reinforcement with treats and attention. She would thrive in a home where someone is usually home as she does have some (understandable) separation anxiety. She’s practically perfect in every way and her foster family will ugly cry when she is adopted.

· Children ages 7+

· Fine in a bustling environment

Sandy's adoption fee is $150 but waived for senior adopters.
