Biography
It's easy to figure out how Sweetie got her name once you meet her. She is very sweet and people-focused. She also loves her toys! She plays fetch with a tennis ball, destroys stuffed animals and loves to chew on Nylabones. She's a gem of a dog who definitely wasn't cherished in her prior home. She was brought to a local shelter when she was found as a stray. She was suffering from a massive flea infestation which has caused quite a bit of hair loss which she has 90% recovered from. She needs a dachshund experienced home and an adopter who has the time to help better her house-training skills. She may have lived in a concrete run because she is most comfortable pottying on concrete or brick. She requires a single-family home with securely fenced yard (no invisible or electric fences or wire/chain link fences). She is very athletic and can scale wire fences. She needs a young playful dog buddy (or two or three) her size and age in the home who enjoy doggie play time. No cats (or other small furry pets) and no young children. All adult home is needed for this girl. She walks well on a leash. She is adorable and loves attention. She is OK in a crate, just not for long periods of time. No apartments and no townhouses for this girl with a big bark. ****Applicants must be willing to travel to Ellicott City MD (10 miles south of Baltimore) to meet and adopt Sweetie and be close enough that I can do a home visit.****
