Hi my name is Lucky and I was rescued from North Carolina after being dumped by my former owner. The vet thinks I had a litter and was a puppy mill dog that was abandoned after breeding. A nice family brought me to their home in Frederick, MD and vetted me. They named me "Lucky" and I certainly am!
Now I am at my foster parents' house. It's wild here! They have 3 other doxies and one big dog. I just love my new furry friends. We play tug of war with our dog blankets, chew on bones, chase balls and chase each other. I love to go outside and play in their big back yard. Although rain deters my foster siblings from going outside, not me. I explore their big back yard in any weather! I did have a few mistakes in the house when I first arrived, but I have pottied consistently outside after I learned my new routine. My foster Mom always praises me and tells me what a good dog I am. She tells me I am sweet and that I have a wonderful disposition (whatever that means)! She also tells me I am smart. I know my name, I come when she calls me and I certainly know what "No!" means. I am trying to learn other commands as well, but with four other dogs, I easily get distracted. I am still very puppy-like and I have a curious tendency to find random items like hair barrettes, shoes, Christmas ornaments, etc. and that's when I hear "No!" a lot. So, having plenty of chew toys for me is important! I walk OK on a leash and I do really well riding in the car. The crate is not my favorite thing, but I do OK once I am in it. I also like children that are gentle with me. I am sometimes a little shy at first, but once I get to know new people and dogs, I warm right up! My foster Mom thinks it is because I didn't have much of a good start in life. But, oh boy! Now I have a great home with four other dogs and five humans who all adore me! They try to get me to snuggle with them in bed and the other doxies, but I prefer to have my own space and either sleep by their feet or in my dog bed. Once I am spayed in January, I will be patiently waiting to go to my furever home. I have lots of love to give and loved to be loved. My foster Mom tells me I make a great family dog!
Since being is foster care, it is really evident that she LOVES being in her yard and its hard to get her to come in sometimes. For this reason, I really want Lucky to have a securely fenced back yard to enjoy, its the least that I can do for her!

Lucky's adoption fee is $275.
Must be willing to drive to Pasadena, MD to meet and adopt Lucky.
