UPDATE 06/19/2017: Bam Bam is ready to be adopted!!! Update: Bam Bam had his PDA heart surgery today. Here ia an update from his foster Mom :Update #2: Bamm is in recovery and doing very well. So much so he wanted to go cage diving when they were getting him settled. Device was able to close off the PDA completely and they were able to go thru his femoral. His blood pressure and temp is good and we will get a call sometime around 10-12 tomorrow to go pick the little pipsqueak up! He will have an ECHO tomorrow to see how things are working compared to today. Thank goodness it was a success!

Bam Bam is a handsome young boy of only 2 years old. He was surrendered to us, along with his Dad, who is only 3 years old. We had no idea that Bam Bam was so sick, till he had his neuter and was told that there was something wrong with his heart. So young, we just couldn't believe it. So with Board approval, Bam Bam saw a cardiologist. Official diagnosis of his heart condition is Patent Ductus Arteriosus. Many times puppies are born with this, and it is diagnosed usually before the puppy is even 8 weeks old. And the puppy will soon after have surgery done. We are amazed that Bam Bam has lived this long with this problem. The only thing that is keeping him alive is that the vessel is like a funnel, allowing some of the blood to leave the chamber. If not he would have been died a long time ago. PDA can be fixed rather easily, via catheterization into the femoral artery and this will allow him to lead a happy normal life. Pills are an option but, will not fix the problem. It will just help slow down the heart tissue from dying.
So Bam Bam needs surgery. And we need your help. Cost will be estimated at $3800.00 to $4500.00 And that's with a discount to our rescue. rescue.
Surgery is scheduled for May 23rd. Pleas keep Bam Bam in your thoughts and prayers. Check back for updates please.
