Become a Foster Home
Foster
homes are the backbone of any rescue group and Dachshund Rescue
of North America is no different. We must turn down dogs every
day because we just don’t have the room.
A typical foster home would be one that is familiar with
dachshunds and can lovingly accept one in their home for an
average of 1-2 months. During the dachshund’s foster
period, the foster home would stay in close contact with a
DRNA representative, be willing to take the dog to the vet
when necessary and work with the dachshund in areas he may
need training. (House or obedience training for example) The
foster home is instrumental in getting the dachshund ready
for adoption. DRNA pays for all approved vetting cost and
the foster home provides love, care and food.
If you are familiar with the breed and can open your home
to a rescue dachshund, complete the foster home application
and e-mail it to your local DRNA representative. Find your state representative by clicking on your
state in the map below.
