Biography
When we first met Koda, he was a very tense unhappy boy. His owners were in tears because they could not control him and were very afraid of him. He spent his time bullying them and growling at them when he didn’t get his way. He pretty much terrorized them. The relationship had devolved to one of fear rather than love.

He is doing well in his foster home now because his foster parents are trainers and he doesn’t get away with much especially his bossy aggressive attitude. Needless to say, we want him to succeed in his new home so we have some strict requirements for him. He now loves to play fetch, run with his foster brother and sister, give kisses, go for walks and enjoy life. He is a smart, young fellow who knows his sit command, off command and is working on come. He is also talkative so only single family home living for him. They just ignore him and go about their day - he stops barking within a couple of minutes.

Because of his past history, we require the following for Koda which are non-negotiable:
• Adopters who have training experience more than just obedience training
• A large securely fenced yard that he can run in without fear of predators
• At least one or two playful young small stable dog buddies
• No cats, children (present, future or visiting) or bigger dogs
• Someone who is home more than not so they can work with him
• Someone close enough to work with his foster parents in Sharpsburg MD until they feel like he’s ready to move on to his new home.

Please understand we are ultra-conservative about his placement. He is not a “plug and play” dog. He will always require management but he is worth it…. To the right person(s). To be crystal clear: if you want a cuddle bunny to snuggle with Koda is NOT the dog you are looking for! If you want a companion who will play with your other small dogs and reward your affection with an honest, joyous heart and the desire to be stroked, have belly rubs, obey your commands and race through your house then let’s talk about this wonderful boy!
