Taffy came to us from an abusive/neglectful situation. She was tethered outside and the tether was so tightly wrapped around one of her hind legs she was screaming in pain. A concerned neighbor called Animal Control. They came out immediately and took her to the vet who cut the tether off. Her leg was very swollen and with medication, Taffy made a full recovery. Taffy is as sweet as can be and loves to lay on her back to get her belly rubbed. She makes very cute noises and that’s when you know she is really happy. She loves to burrow in her favorite bed with her favorite blanket. Since Taffy seemed to spend a lot of time tied up outside, she can be restless. For the most part Taffy is housetrained but when she becomes restless, you want to keep an eye on her because she can have accidents. Taffy is crate trained and behaves perfectly in her crate when her foster parents are not home. Taffy needs a fenced yard and an all-adult home. She loves the big bed and loves to curl up under the covers. At this time, we feel like she would do best as an only dog (as long as her adopter doesn't work) because she can be possessive with other dogs and her foster parents. Taffy's vision is limited so she can bump into things sometimes and have difficulty seeing outside. ****Applicant should be willing to drive to Ellicott City, Maryland (10 miles south of Baltimore) to meet and adopt Taffy. Her adoption fee is $275.****
