Biography
Tulip is a young cute little wire-hair dachshund mix who found herself in a noisy crowded shelter because she was picked up as a stray. She was scared and withdrawn so the shelter staff contacted DRNA to help her. When we went to visit her, it took a while for her to warm up to us but once she did, she definitely wanted to spend time with us. She would probably do best with adults who have dealt with fearful dogs before and know they need to go slow to gain the dog's trust. Tulip can be hand shy and definitely leash shy. She needs someone who can help her build her confidence and a fenced yard to feel safe in. She does know to potty while walking on a leash. She just needs the right loving person to put her trust in. Who knows what this little girl has gone through. Please be Tulip's hero! ****Applicants must be willing to drive to Ellicott City, Maryland (10 miles south of Baltimore) to meet and adopt Tulip.****
