|This is one really sweet, special girl. Pumpkin was very introverted when she came into rescue. She had been an only dog and I’m guessing she didn’t get a lot of attention. She would get into a doggy bed in the bedroom and stay there until we would go get her to join us in the living room. She goes to bed at night and doesn’t get up until you go get her. My dogs, on the other hand, race around until breakfast! |
She’s starting to join the family in the last week or so. She loves to lay in the shade outside on the deck . . . under the patio table. She eats like a good girl and is not food aggressive at all. I expected she would be since she had been an only child. She’s even started to play with the others and actually looks like she’s having fun!
Pumpkin had herniated discs and does need her bladder and bowels expressed. She’s very good about it and wears cute little panties around the house. She has a “drag bag” to go outside if she’s not in her cart. These protect her feet and bottom from the mulch and whatever else is out there!
When she first came here she had no idea about being expressed and was not happy about it but she knows the program now. It doesn’t hurt her she just didn’t understand what was going on! If she would poop her bed and I would go to pick her up to clean up, she would start shaking like she may have gotten yelled at in the past or was afraid I would yell at her. Poor girl. Now we sing to her while we clean her up and she’s ok with that.
She had her dental and only lost two teeth. The rest of her teeth are beautiful.
We took Pumpkin to the Oktoberfest and she ran in the cart races with my other dogs. Sooooo cute! She loved all the people fussing over her and wanting to hold her and take her photo. I have videos if anyone wants to see them!
If interested you can contact her foster mama at email@example.com and get more photos! We are in NE Ohio but we do help transport so give us a call!
Pumpkin's adoption fee is $150.00 Please fill out an application at www.drna.org
