Biography
Chapo is a 3 year old Dachshund-Chihuahua mix - more Chi than not - weighing just under 7lbs. He has lived with cats and other dogs but it's clear he was never treated very well by his humans. He becomes fearful when he is placed into new situations. Children make him nervous and uncomfortable so he definitely needs an all-adult home as he is not a good fit for children. Chapo and Brownie came from the same home and she gives him courage when he gets frightened; he clings to her less when he starts feeling comfortable. Little Chapo needs a patient, gentle, and understanding adopter who has experience with fearful, not so well-socialized dogs. He definitely needs a fenced yard as the world can be a scary place for a little guy like him. He needs help with housetraining but with consistency and patience he will catch on.. He is good in a crate. Breed experience is a must. ****Applicants must be willing to travel to Ellicott City MD (10 miles south of Baltimore) to meet and adopt Chapo. His adoption fee is $275.****
