My name is Raylan (distinguished just like me!) and boy do I have a rescue tale for you. When the animal control folks got to me I was in such bad shape with so many fleas they wound up shaving me...yep, SHAVING me. I was in really really sorry shape and I was extremely underweight. I want to thank those nice folks in the shelter though for helping me make it into the capable and loving hands of my DRNA foster mom (actually I have had a team of two great foster moms) and I am now on the road to recovery. I have had my neuter and dental, my coat is improving, I am gaining weight and as soon as we can get a little skin infection cleared up I will be ready for my forever home. Foster Mom says I am going to make an awesome companion for someone! Let me quote her directly: "Raylan is one of the most gentle, docile dogs I have ever come across. All he wants to do is be at your side. He isn't overbearing and he isn't a barker. The only time he cries out is when he has separation anxiety, but he gets over it and eventually goes to sleep." She also reports that now that I am on the road to health, I have a TON of energy. And the news just keeps getting better and better. We are estimating that I am a very young senior boy and November is adopt a senior month during which DRNA waives the adoption fee. So what are we waiting for? I am now living in the Richmond area and I would LOVE to meet you...please send an email to Foster Mom so we can get started on forever. Woof and I love you already. |
