Biography
Peanut 11590 is a super-sweet miniature dachshund boy who gets along with everyone! (Well, we don't know about cats). Peanut is house trained and crate trained and rides well in the car. He likes both big and small dogs and is fine with gentle, kind children over the age of 8. He walks well on a leash. He has a beautiful smooth red coat, he is happy, healthy, and heart worm negative, and he enjoys all the things dachshunds love such as sleeping in the big bed, playing, watching out the window, going for walks, and eating. In his foster home he is working on losing a few pounds and will soon weigh between 12-15 lbs with his new exercise and healthy eating program. He was loved and well cared for by his previous owner who had rescued him from a shelter. We do not know his true age but he does not look or act like a senior. When his owner became too ill to provide care for Peanut, he came to Dachshund Rescue so he could find his Forever Home. So if you are looking for a doxie companion, Peanut has packed his suitcase with all his toys and coats from his previous home and he is ready for his next adventure! Peanut is being fostered in Montgomery County MD and is available for adoption within a 100 mile range of the Baltimore-Washington,D.C. metropolitan area. There is no adoption fee for Peanut 11590 in June!
