| Dexter is a handsome senior boy who was picked up as a stray and brought to the shelter. His two loves in life are food and his people. He absolutely adores being loved on and petted. He enjoys being on the couch with you while you watch TV or take a nap. He truly is happiest by your side…a total love bug. He stays in a crate when I leave the house. He will bark a little at first but then settles down, and if you give him a Kong that has been stuffed and frozen, he doesn’t even notice you are leaving. Did I mention he loves to eat?! He does like to “talk” to you if he wants some loving or a treat, so no apartments or townhomes for this boy. Dexter’s right hind leg is not 100% from a past incident, but it doesn’t slow him down and his zest for life is still great. His potty habits are pretty good, especially if taken out on a schedule. He will sometimes bark when he has to go out. Dexter would be fine as an only dog or in a home with other dogs. He did fantastic meeting the resident doxies, greyhound and cat. Nothing seems to faze this boy. He will offer someone great companionship, so put your application in now for this sweet boy and let him live out his retirement years with you. ****Applicants must be willing to drive to Ellicott City, Maryland (10 miles south of Baltimore) to meet and adopt Dexter.**** |
