| My name is Dougal and I literally just showed up on my fabulous DRNA foster mom's doorstep...literally! I was so handsome and engaging that she whispered a secret to me...part of her was hoping no one would claim me! She wants a family for me who will never let me go. I am very young, maybe less than two years old, I am FULLY POTTY TRAINED (and yes, I AM a purebred dachshund but I know, that is pretty rare). I love to go on walks; I run to the front door which is my way of begging for walk time. And I will wake you up in the morning to walk me! I am sweet and docile, I show no signs of food aggression. I will bark if I am in a separate room from my humans, I do NOT care for the crate very much, and I am happiest when left to roam the house with my humans nearby. And my bark is pretty loud so no apartments for your sake! A fenced in yard is probably a great idea OR you must be able to provide the TONS of exercise I need. CAUTION: I have proven time and time again to be AN ESCAPE ARTIST and a good one at that. One reason Foster Mom says no young children is that if they open the door just a tiny bit I AM GONE and the same goes for grownups so you must be vigilant. That's probably how I got away to begin with but Foster Mom is determined it will never happen again so she is being extra picky about who gets to provide my forever home. Don't worry, though, I am worth it! I am happy to sleep on the big bed but also happy to sleep beside or under the bed. I am being fostered in Richmond. All my vetting is done and I am good to go. Woof and I love you already! |
