| NEWTON 12-14-2009 Twelve years of family loyalty And look where it got me Ending up in doggie jail Owners who refuse to make bail But someone saw a spark Didn’t think I had left my mark The world still needs a Little Guy One that’s spunky and not shy Then a phone call one day And I was on my way So with a murmur in my ticker It didn’t hurt my licker And I can hardly see But it hasn’t stopped me Life is pretty good these days In so very many ways But a new family I crave I hope I am not being naïve That someone could love an old guy That they could ask why? How my family could say goodbye My needs are so few Could they be met by you? Sweaters to keep me warm A family that keeps me from harm With a big bed to snuggle Fur siblings to cuddle Ones that don’t mind a bath Ones that will let me take my path A home with floors that can handle piddle And one that don’t mind that I am little Great food that’s softened for me Is that to much to plea? |
